If you’ve ever interviewed a job, you’d probably know how tough it is to make it. (Most of you should know it.)
At that time, when I across the showroom, I saw 3 or 4 panels (door-plank like) of watches hang up there.
Lots of posts with watches in the corridor led me to the office to make interview. (I was nerves at that time, as I knew very little about watches.)
After 30mins talking, they led me to the “Monster House”, I called it at that time. As lines of machines that I ever saw before, standing and humming out there, worked hard.
Especially the drilling, and polishing area, I even can smell the oil of machine. Imaging that, my friend…
Fortunately, I like that smell. Yes, I know what I am talking about, I do like that smell…
How amazing when you saw the metals coming out from the month of those machines…
The romantic story started now when I entered the assembling room.
That is not so special
when I just got into the room, workers were sitting there still, and quietly, everything
in order.
However, when I went
closer, I was astonished by those scenes and wondered how they can put all those
tiny things together.
All these aroused me to check further how they are doing.
Here is the process:
1, Incoming goods
and inspection
All incoming goods are counted and the quantities are compared with the delivery note. And then the inspectors conduct a 100% visual inspection of all dials, cases, case backs, crowns, straps, hands etc. and issue a corresponding inspection report.
2, Fitting the
dial and hands
The dial is placed manually. Next the hour and minute hands, the chronograph hands and center hands are correctly fitted. It sounds very easy. But such small hands should put in the correct position. This is precious work to do.
3, Casing and
closing the case back
Watch glasses are cleaned with compressed air and vacuum; following this operation, the individual watches are cased by hands. The case back is closed either using individual screws or using the machine for screw-down backs.
4, Proof of water
resistance
All assembled watches are checked for water resistance, regardless of batch size.
5, Setting the
time and date
The time and date are set at the customer’s request. The finished watches are checked for good working and all chronographs are initialized. The assembly of the watch head is now complete.
6, 24/48 hour
control and functional check
All watches undergo at least a 48-hour check for good working before they are ready for shipment or strap assembly.
7, Strap assembly +quality
control +final inspection
The
various watch straps, made from leather, rubber or metal, are fitted by using
specialist tools.
A QC
team checks all watches 100% for aesthetic defects, rejecting the ones that no
up to standard. Faulty watches are reworked and inspected again.
All those tiny
things and also the big machines made me be addicted to watches and cant get
out of it.
